THE VICIS ZERO1 AXIS FIT SYSTEM

A great fitting helmet is essential for player comfort and protection. The VICIS AXIS Fit System incorporates head length and width measurements to determine a player’s optimal helmet size. Informed by detailed head measurements of hundreds of football players, the AXIS Fit System provides an anatomically correct fit based on the unique head shapes of elite athletes. The ZERO1 offers three helmet models paired with a choice of FORM liners, ridge pads, and jaw pads that deliver a custom fit and superior comfort without the need for air bladders and shims.

RECOMMENDED HELMET SIZE

The VICIS AXIS Fit System incorporates head length and breadth measurements to determine a player’s optimal helmet size. Informed by detailed head measurements of hundreds of current and former NFL and NCAA football players, the AXIS Fit System provides an anatomically correct fit based on the unique head shapes of elite athletes. The ZERO1 offers 12 different sizing combinations, eliminating the need for shims and air bladders, taking comfort and safety to a new level.

Head Length (Front to Back)

  1. Place one arm of calipers slightly above the middle of the eyebrows.

  2. Place the other arm of the calipers on the back of the head.

  3. Make sure the calipers touch lightly to the head. The player should feel the calipers come in contact, but not create pressure on the surface of the head. If between increments, round up.

  4. Write down the measurement for head length.

Head WIDTH (Side to Side)

  1. Place the arms of the calipers above each ear.

  2. Make sure the calipers touch lightly to the head. The player should feel the calipers come in contact, but not create pressure on the surface of the head. If between increments, round up.

  3. Write down the measurement for head width.

NOTE: For those with thicker hair, compress the caliper plates until feeling the hair ‘push back’ or create slight resistance to the caliper plate. This will serve as a good approximation for the fit of the helmet.

Axis Fit Matrix

Using the head length and width measurements you’ve recorded, find the approximate ZERO1 helmet model (A, B, or C) and FORM Liner configuration using the matrix.

  1. Start by finding the measured head length along the horizontal portion of the AXIS Fit Matrix.

  2. Then find the measured head width along the vertical portion of the AXIS Fit Matrix.

The location where these two points intersect will determine the appropriate ZERO1 helmet model (A, B, or C) and FORM Liner configuration. If the measurements land on a line between helmet models, always go to the next model up. If you land on a line between FORM Liner combinations, start with both liners at .375″ and adjust fit with different FORM liners.
